The Governor has accused the schools of providing an inferior education, and maybe he has finally proven his case. Why? Because the governor is a product of that system, and he has displayed all the characteristics of a “slow learner.”
Nowhere has he demonstrated this more dramatically than in the matter of vocabulary. After twenty-five years in the Georgia Democratic party’s political vineyard, Roy has made his way no farther in the dictionary than the letter “E”. There he has found the word “ethics”, and he has suddenly made it his theme song this election year.
Now that he has learned to spell it, let’s hope that he will learn to define it. Perhaps a few antonyms would help. Roy, can you say, “Charles Walker?” How about “Bobby Whitworth?”
That will do for starters. If you want a longer list, we feel sure “The Atlanta Journal-Constitution” will be glad to provide it.
The latest bit of heroics is the Governor’s decision to declare a moratorium on the controversial Northern Arc until the legislature has time to pass new ethics legislation.
“Ethics” legislation from the Georgia Democratic legislature? Don’t look for it before Armageddon, the Apocalypse, and the Rapture, and not even then, unless Tom Murphy is swept in whirlwind from the Speaker’s chair.
Governor Barnes KNOWS this. That is why his election year bellowing about ethics is so hypocritical.
Next spring, when he continues to sit on his throne and the Democrats continue
to control the legislature, we “may” get something called ethics
legislation. If we do, it will be worth about as much as the saliva on the
Speaker’s cigar. And the Northern Arc will be resurrected in the twinkling
of an eye…..or the pounding of a gavel.
