What’s Cooking?

Buttermilk Pie

3 cups sugar
6 tbs. all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups buttermilk, divided
5 eggs
1/2 cup butter, melted
2 tsp. vanilla
2 unbaked pastry shells
(9 inch each)


In bowl, combine sugar, flour, & 3/4 cup buttermilk, Mix Well. Add eggs and remaining buttermilk. Stir in butter and vanilla. Divide evenly between pie shells.
Bake in 425° preheated oven for 10 minutes. Reduce temperature of oven to 350° and bake 25 -- 30 minutes more or until knife inserted into center comes out clean.
Cool completely. Store in refrigerator.
